And as the water starts to boils 10 minutes later, and you start drinking your freshly brewed cup of coffee, you notice something weird. The house is quiet. Too quiet in fact. No one's laughing out loud, the TV is off, you didn't trip over anything cause the toys are still in their places. So you start panicking. Where's Tommy?
After a brief run around every room, and picking under every bed, unsuccessful in the search, you realize the sad truth as you fall down on the couch. You forgot to pick him up from school. Again.
So you turn the stove off, throw on a pair of sneakers and a jacket and manically drive to his school. He's sitting on the front steps, sad and alone, waiting for his mommy to pick him up. And he's mad. Even cooking his favourite meal doesn't cheer him up, saying "I'm sorry" a million times is in vain, same as the promise it won't happen again.
