The Power of Music to Get You a Productive Day

Noisy workplace, someone yelling from a corner, another cursing the jammed copy machine and your working space gets jeopardized. 

No peace nor silence to complete your errands, to write an email, or get ready your report for your boss. Suddenly, your feel the vibe how the icon of Spotify or KOLLEKT.FM is calling for you. 

Being aware that music has taken a great place in our modern-day work session, optimizing the boredom, stimulating your willingness to do more, you get addicted to music.

Therefore this results with us asking ourselves whether music makes us more productive? More dedicated to our work? Improves our creativity? Or everything lies on one psych effect?

According to Dr. Lesiuk`s research, those who were multitasking, listening to music and working, finished up with the tasks faster and found more creative solutions and ides to a situation rather than those who were only committed to their task.

After all, music influences the mood which is a key factor in getting things done.

In biological terms, melodious sounds help encourage the release of dopamine in the reward area of the brain, as would eating a delicacy, looking at something appealing or smelling a pleasant aroma, said Dr. Amit Sood, a physician of integrative medicine with the Mayo Clinic.

“When people are positive everything goes well, they finish up the tasks quickly, think more sensible, unlike when they are stressed and their focus is narrowed which in most cases results for them to make a hastily decision”.  – said Dr. Lesiuk

On the other hand some don`t benefit from listening to music or see just a little effect, as it was pointed out in her study. 

But to embrace the effect of music to be productive, you employer need to give you premission to listen to music on during shift or to use headphones,as in some companies listening to music is tagainst their regulations. 

You can achieve this by nicely asking your superior and keep in mind, if get your "Yes", don`t be arogant and ignore your colleagues. :)
