12 Small Things for a Big Weekend Productivity Boost

It's only Thursday, but we are all thinking about the weekend. These two special days to relax and unwind from all the tension. And what a better way to do it, than by keeping yourself busy with fun and productive activities. Use this two precious days to elevate your mood, gather positive energy. Set yourself in a better state of mind with these simple tips and ideas that will also be good for your head, health and lifestyle, and won't hurt your wallet :) 



#1 Wake up Early
Instead of waking up at noon, get out of bed at 9:00, or 10:00, and have a nice big breakfast with your family. drink your morinig coffee in peace and energize. Think about what you want to do with the rest of your day, and make a plan. Schedule your 'must dos' and 'want to dos' for the day, but stay flexible.

#2 Take naps if you need to reboost
Don't force yourself to do this or that if you feel tired. Take a nap break: 10-20 minutes one for a quick energy boost; 60 minutes to improve memory for facts; or a 90 minutes (a full sleep cycle) one to improve creativity, and emotional and procedural memory. Choose in accordance of your needs.

#3 Break out of the monotony 
We all follor a certain routine  and even though it is efficient  it get boring over time. So why not break away from it and do something different? Remember how you wanted to go visit that new caffe, but were too busy? Why not call a friend and go check it out, now.

#4 Exercise 
Go out loong walk, or a run, go to the gym, join a yoga class or try pilates. Go rollerblading or simply go on a bike ride. Exercise is one of the best ways to relive stress and is a healthy one. So why not make it a habit to exercise at least 3 time a week. It will do wonders for your mood and looks!

#5 Spend time with your pet 
Spart spending more than 15 minutes at a time with you dog/cat. It's not an accessory, it's a live being in need of your care and attention. After feeding it, play together, or just cuddle. Your pet will give you the most honest love and attention you can get!

#6 Go to the park for a sunny walk
When was the last time you went to the park just cause you felt like it? Well, go on, do it. Call your friends and have a picnic. Play Frisby and breathe some fresh air. Relax the old fashion way  in nature and get in touch with your inner child!

#7 Treat yourself with chocolate or candy
Break your diet. Stop being to harsh on yourself because of that one extra pound. You are allowed to eat a candy bar, or a chocolate muffin every now and than. You are going to start exercising 3 times a week now, aren't you? Treat yourself for being good all week, than go back to eating clean on Monday. 

#8 Catch up on your reading
Go to the book shelf. Finish than novel started reading months ago. Or, grab a new one from those you've been buying lately but you just put them up to gather dust. Either way, start reading. Loose yourself in another world. Learn something new, visit some other place. 

#9 Watch that new awesome movie
Instead of drooling over Johnny Depp and talking with your best friend about watching his new movie, Mortdecai, actually do it. You are passing near the cinema at least twice a week. Buy two tickets, and surprise her. Spend Saturday afternoon watching this awesome movie in the best company possible! 

#10 Grab a coffee with an old friend
Remember Martha? Of course you do, she was your college best friend, and now you haven't seen her almost a year. Can you believe it's been that long? Well maybe you can call her, go for a cup of coffee and catch up this weekend!

#11 Cook a delicious dinner
It's the weekend, relaxing would not be complete with a delicious home cooked dinner. Make your sweetheart's favorite, and prepare for a night of overeating, nice wine, cuddling and enjoyment! Cooking for two is always more pleasurable that preparing a quick bite for yourself.  

#12 Reflect on your week, and set your goals for the next week
Finish Sunday night reflecting on what you have done this past work week, and how you spent your weekend. Did you finish all your tasks, professional and personal, did you enjoy this weekend? Set your goals for the week ahead, and try stay on course! 

Set yourself for success and you'll see your productivity growing!
